Saw a dark emerald metallic current gen CTS today for the first time. It is GORGEOUS. It stays parked under a tree in the office complex adjacent to mine and I always thought it was black at a glance, but today it was in a sunny spot and it looked incredible.
It photographs really poorly and neither of those pictures does it justice, but sign me up for an ATS-V sedan in dark emerald with peanut butter leather interior. Sadly, I think the color is only available on the CTS and Escalade for now, but that should change.
I remember shopping for my 3rd gen 4runner and every time an imperial jade 02 would come up for sale I would pretty much ignore the condition and go check it out. The perfect immaculate 02 was swiped from under me while I was at work and it was a real heartbreaker, especially considering the 02 I bought instead had a huge rust hole in the frame.
Any cars you wish came in dark green? I can think of a hundred.

One of these will be mine one day

Dark Emerald green, especially metallic, is the BEST car color. I wish mine was that color.
They made an fzj80 in it and I wish mine was this color

I looked at green fzj80 at one point but it was NOT well taken care of. Somehow still so good looking though.

Wow had no clue you could get an SS in that color. I would love one of those with bronze wheels.

I love the color, I can never have one again though. I’ve had three, specifically green with a tan interior, color combo vehicles. All three were complete hell. One was nearly new (2 years old when I bought it), one was not, and one was, well, an MGB. All three suffered at least one significant mechanical failures, so I’ve sworn off the color as an option.

I will make sure my first green car is something reliable so the color isnt ruined for me. What were the other cars besides the MGB?

‘96 Yukon bought in ‘98. Complete lemon. ‘90 Saab 900T. Good car, transmission failed on it around 90k.
At one point, I had thought of a Bullit theme for my ‘67 Cougar, but then feel like I’d be dooming it to an early death. I do really like the Spruce Mica color on Tacomas, but it wasn’t offered in ‘15 when I bought mine.

My Colorado is the same color, it’s sorta amazing.

A green 900t would get a lot of love from me

Totally agreed. Although usually only as long as it’s closer to teal than an olive green, because the added blue makes the color look much richer.

I appreciate GM offering it on a wide variety of vehicles. I knew they made the old colorado in green but when I first saw the new gen with spotless emerald paint I was in love.

I’m fine with green personally, even like it in many instances, but I like a brighter green than what you posted generally, like a forest or emerald green.
Apparantly nobody buys/likes cars in green. The reason they all come in grey now is resale value.

I like it a little lighter too, but it is cool having a car that looks classy and pretty much black at night and in shade but is a nice metallic green in the sun.
If I were to get something fast and less classy it would be a lighter more forest-y green.

take: because green is a horrible car color unless it’s Sublime. And even then only in certain few cars.

I think green should be a required color option, and it makes me sad that it’s so rare. My theory is that preferences for which shade or hue looks good are all over the spectrum of opinions nd car makers just don’t want to deal with trying to guess which will be popular enough to sell. It’s the same reason why the largest beer makers make watered down yellow water. They can’t hit everyone’s taste with the right combo of hops and flavor, so they just try to make the least offensive brew possible.

very true, light green vs dark green its two completely different tastes. The beer example works perfectly too.

That is incredible...Some slightly larger gunmetal wheels and it would be perfect
